Eagles Pick Up Pair of Wins Over Wallace-Selma

The Meridian Community College Lady Eagles and Eagles picked up a pair of road victories Monday, November 12 in Selma, Alabama. With the win the Lady Eagles improved to 3-1 on the season while the Eagles improved to 2-1.

The MCC Lady Eagles picked up the come from behind 61-54 win to start the night, while the Eagles won in blowout fashion 97-59.

In the opener the Lady Eagles battled back from a 4th quarter deficit to pull out the win. Trailing 46-42 heading into the 4th quarter the Lady Eagles outscored Wallace-Selma 19-8 during the 4th quarter to pull out the win.

Freshman Jordan Bell was the leading scorer for the Lady Eagles with 22 points. Fellow freshman LaChrisha Williams added 12 points for the Lady Eagles. Sophomore Mariah Collins contributed with a career high 10 assists.

In the second game of the night the Eagles raced out to a 30 point halftime lead and never looked back in picking up the 38 point victory.

Sophomore Brandon Mills led the Eagles with 17 points while fellow sophomore Alex Oguinn added 16 points.

The Meridian Community College basketball teams will return to action Thursday, November 15 at Bishop State Community College. The Lady Eagles will tip-off at 5:30 p.m. with the Eagles following at 7:30 p.m.
