MCC Golf Finishes Runner-Up In Rain Shortened Tournament

The Meridian Community College Golf team finished ahead of three teams this weekend but couldnt defeat Mother Nature as the Eagles finished second in a rain-shortened MACJC State Tournament. The Eagles finished runner up to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The Eagles were led by Will Kidder who finished tied for 3rd in the tournament. The Eagles shot 14 over par 302 as a team. 

Will Kidder paced the Eagles on the day shooting Even par 72. Mitchell Fifer finished tied for sixth in the tournament. He shot two over par 74. Presley Wade and Logan Meadows finished tied for 17th after shooting six over par 78. Finishing things out for the Eagles was Dalton Baskin who finished tied for 20th shooting seven over par 79.

The Eagles finished second behind MGCC. Hinds Community College finished third, Itawamba Community College finished fourth, and Copiah-Lincoln Community College finished fifth in the five team tournament. 

The Eagles will be back in action Saturday-Sunday April 27/28 in the District Tournament.
