Garner Chosen As MACJC Player Of The Week

Meridian Community College baseball player Kace Garner has been chosen as the MACJC Player of the Week. Garner helped lead the Eagles to a 4-0 record on the week. His week was highlighted by a grand slam against East Central Community College.

Garner, a freshman from Brandon, MS, plays Catcher/Outfield for the Eagles. For the week, Garner batted .583 with two home runs and eleven runs batted in. In an 11-1 win over East Central Community College Garner hit a grand slam and drove in four runs. He also hit a homer and had five runs batted in during a 17-6 win over Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Garner is batting .307 for the season. He has fifteen home runs and forty-nine runs batted in. His fifteen homers are the fifth most of any player in the NJCAA. The Eagles are currently 29-13 overall and 18-10 in MACJC play. The Eagles begin postseason play Wednesday, May 8 against Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 at Scaggs Field.
