Lady Eagles Honored With All-State Selection

Two members of the Meridian Community College Lady Eagles softball team have been selected for the 2019 MACJC All-State Softball Team. Sophomore Keirra Fair and Alyssa Branyan were selected for this honor. Fair was chosen as First-Team All-State while Branyan was chosen as Second-Team All-State.

Fair, a sophomore from Ackerman, MS, batted lead-off for the Lady Eagles and played Right Field. She led the Lady Eagles with a.431 batting average. She added two homers and drove twenty-one runs. Fair led the Lady Eagles with twenty-eight stolen bases. She has signed to continue her college career at Belhaven University. 

Branyan, a freshman from Hernando, MS, paced the Lady Eagles with eight home runs. She led the Lady Eagles with thirty-eight runs batted in. She was chosen as the NJCAA National Player of the Week on March 12. 

"I am so honored to have coached such a hardworking, and time changing group of young ladies this season. Two All-State standouts from this 2019 squad were sophomore leader in the grass Keirra Fair and freshman vacuum at 1B Alyssa Branyan. We also had two players make Honorable Mention in sophomore outfielder Taylor Perilloux and freshman powerhouse Kelsey Patterson! I can’t wait to see what next years group is going to bring and also follow the sophomores as they take their new teams to new heights!" Said MCC Softball Head Coach Faith Robinson

The Lady Eagles had a successful 2019 season finishing with a 23-19 record. The Lady Eagles finished 15-13 in MACJC play.
