Meridian - The awards keep coming in for the 2019-2020 Meridian Community College golf team. Bradley Wright was named Ping NJCAA first team All American, and Ethan Dyess was an honorable mention. This comes on the heels of both players being named Ping All-Region golfers.
Head coach Ronnie Key said, "I am very proud of Bradley and Ethan. Bradley came on strong in the two tournaments we were able to play this spring. He finished second and tied for first in those tournaments and was playing outstanding golf. Bradley is one of the hardest workers I have ever coached, and it really paid off." Bradley averaged 73.78 this season. He made the All-Tournament team in every match this spring.
Bradley said, "It's a great achievement to be named first-team All-American. It was one of my goals at the start of the year, and I'm proud to have achieved it. I hate the season ended early, but I enjoyed my time here and Meridian and would like to thank coach Key for the opportunity to play." Bradley has committed to play for Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma next season.
Coach Key said, "This is a huge honor for Ethan being one of only a few freshmen to be named to an All-American team. He has tremendous talent and has a bright future ahead of him. I'm looking forward to watching him get even better next year."
The Eagles finished this season ranked number 6 in the nation in The Golf Coaches Association of America.
