Three members of the Meridian Community College baseball team have signed a National Letter of Intent to continue their playing careers at four -year universities.
Pitcher Tyler Lantz, West Lauderdale High School, University of Southern Mississippi. Lantz was 1-2 with a 3.24 ERA during the 2018 season.
Catcher/Infielder Houston Parker, Saltillo High School, University of Arkansas-Little Rock. Parker started 46 games at catcher and threw out 30 runners attempting to steal. He batted .333 with ten doubles during the 2018 season.
Pitcher Luke Wallner, Forest Lake High School, Forest Lake, MN, University of Arkansas-Little Rock. Wallner was 6-1 with a 4.73 ERA during the 2018 season.
The 2018 Eagles qualified for the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges State and National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 tournaments. They finished runner-up in the Region 23 tournament. The Eagles finished the season with a 39-13 record and were ranked 14th nationally.
The 2019 Meridian Community College baseball season will start on Monday, February 11 against Spring Hill.
