Lady Eagles drop home opener to EMCC

Meridian - The Lady Eagles fall to (0-1) on the season after dropping their opening contest to EMCC 65-54. Next up the Lady Eagles will travel to Wallace Selma CC Thursday November 7, for a 5:30 tip.

After a sloppy first quarter by by both teams, the Lady Eagles were ahead by just 2 points, 13-11. Powered by Berniya Hardin, who had 13 of her 14 points in the first half, the Lady Eagles would carry that 2 point lead into halftime, 32-30.

The Lady Eagles would go cold in the 3rd quarter managing only 10 points. The Lady Lions would outscore the Lady Eagles 17-10 to take a 49-40 lead into the 4th quarter.

Sidney Sims would try and keep the Lady Eagles afloat scoring 9 of her 10 points in the second half. However, it would prove to not be enough as the Lady Lions would extend their lead to 11 winning 65-54. The Lady Lions were lead by Taylor Lattimore who had 19, JaMia Hollings who had 17, and Tye Metcalf who had 11.
