Dyess wins Mardi Gra Invite/Eagles tie for first
Mobile, AL- Ethan Dyess wins the Mardi Gras Invitational and leads the Eagles to a first-place tie in the season-opening tournament.
After day one, the Eagles found themselves in a hole as they trailed Coastal Alabama by 3 strokes. Things would turn around for the Eagles on day 2 as they would make up those three strokes and force a scorecard playoff, where Coastal Alabama edged out the Eagles.
Ethan Dyess picked up medalist honors with scores of 72 and 70. Second place went to MCC teammate Joseph Berry, who shot 71,76, and Diego Leslie shot 78-78, good enough for 5th, and both made the all-tournament team. Noah Bumgarner shot 77-78, and Brett Baker shot 78-85 to round out the scoring for the Eagles.
The next tournament for the Eagles will be February 21-22 at Quail Hollow Golf club in McComb, MS, for the MACCC Event #4, hosted by Southwest MS CC.
