No. 9 MCC Eagles win MACCC Event #5
Eagles win again and Noah Bumgarner earns medalist honors
PHILADELPHIA - No. 9 MCC Eagles never trailed in the MACCC Event #5 and defeated the No. 2 ranked MS Gulf Coast Bulldogs by 11 strokes. Freshman Noah Bumgarner earned medalist honors by shooting 73,67 (140).
On day one, the Eagles sat atop the leaderboard with a 295, five strokes better than MGCCC in second. The Eagles would extend that lead to 11 strokes on day two behind Noah Bumgarner's tournament-low score of 67. Bumgarner had several teammates in the top 10 to allow the Eagles to cruise to victory at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club. Brett Baker shot 73,72 (145), and Luke Yokum shot 74,74 (148), which was good enough to land them on the all-tournament team. Joseph Berry and Ethan Dyess tied for 7th with scores of 149.
This marks the 4th MACCC event championship for the Eagles this season. The Eagles won at Eagle Ridge Golf Club and Riverbirch Golf Club back in the fall semester and just two weeks ago won at Quail Hollow Golf Club. Next, the Eagles host the MACCC Event #6 held at Northwood Country Club Monday and Tuesday, March 21-22, 2022.
