Meridian Community College’s Lauren Smith Named NJCAA First Team All-American
Charlotte, N.C. – Meridian Community College proudly celebrates the achievement of Lauren Smith, a standout on the MCC Lady Eagles soccer team, who has been named an NJCAA First Team All-American. This prestigious recognition caps an exceptional season, highlighting Smith as one of the premier collegiate players in the nation.
Smith, a sophomore forward from Birmingham, England, demonstrated remarkable skill and leadership throughout the 2024 season. Her 19 goals and 10 assists lead the Lady Eagles this season.
Smith's relentless determination and on-field prowess made her a dominant competitor in NJCAA Division II women's soccer.
"The coaching staff and I could not be more proud of Lauren for this honor, said head coach Mike Smith. She is one of the hardest-working players to ever come through this program and a great person. Congratulations, Lauren, we are so excited for you."
This prestigious honor is the latest in Smith's collection of accolades during her time at MCC. She has earned First Team All-Region 23 and First Team All-MACCC honors in both seasons with the Lady Eagles.
Smith is the second women's soccer player in MCC history to receive NJCAA All-American honors, following Meme Huff in 2012.
Meridian Community College congratulates Lauren Smith on this extraordinary achievement, recognizing her as an exceptional athlete whose contributions will leave a lasting legacy on the MCC soccer program.
