Bio

Lance Strickland was named head golf coach at Meridian Community College in 2022, returning to lead the program where his collegiate career began. He initially served as an assistant under longtime coach Ronnie Key—who also coached Strickland during his playing days at MCC.

As a student-athlete at Meridian, Strickland was a five-time medalist, earned MACCC Player of the Year honors, and was named an NJCAA First Team All-American. He still holds two school records: lowest 18-hole round (64) and lowest 36-hole total (131).

Following his time at MCC, Strickland continued his golf career at the University of North Alabama and earned a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice.

A Meridian native, Strickland remains an accomplished player. He won the 2023 Mississippi Mid-Amateur Championship and posted back-to-back 7th-place finishes at the Mississippi State Amateur in 2022 and 2023.

With NCAA Division I playing experience and deep ties to the Meridian golf community, Strickland brings a unique perspective to coaching—blending high-level competition with a hometown connection that helps his players grow on and off the course.
