Guerrero Named MACCC Offensive Player of the Week After Stellar Performance

MERIDIAN, Miss. – Meridian Community College men's soccer standout Jason Guerrero has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Offensive Player of the Week after a remarkable stretch of play.

The sophomore forward from Hattiesburg, Miss., has been electric in the opening weeks of the 2025 season. Guerrero earned the honor on Tuesday, Sept. 9, following an outstanding three-game stretch on the road. In those matchups, he netted six goals and totaled 12 points, highlighted by a four-goal performance against Enterprise State Community College. He then added two more goals against No. 18 Mineral Area College, while MCC also battled No. 13 St. Charles Community College to a draw.

"Jason has worked hard to put himself in this position, and he's been a difference-maker for us every time he's on the pitch," said MCC head coach Diego Figueroa. "To be recognized at the conference level speaks volumes about his performance and consistency."

Guerrero and the Eagles will return to action on Friday, Sept. 12, with a road match at the University of Mobile at 1 p.m. MCC opens MACCC play next week.
