Eagles Set for Region 23 Tournament, Open with Play-In Matchup Against Northeast
MERIDIAN, Miss. — Meridian Community College softball is set to begin postseason play this week as the Eagles head to Poplarville for the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament, hosted by No. 2 seed Pearl River Community College.
Due to inclement weather, the tournament schedule has been adjusted, with play now set for May 2–5.
Meridian enters the tournament as the No. 7 seed and will face No. 10 Northeast in a play-in game on Saturday, May 2 at 4 p.m. The winner advances into the double-elimination bracket, while the loser's season comes to an end.
The Eagles will look to build on their earlier success against Northeast, having swept the Lady Tigers 8-4 and 11-5 in Booneville during conference play.
