Smith Collects Third MACCC Player of the Week Honor of the Season
MERIDIAN, Miss. – Meridian Community College sophomore forward Terica Smith has been named the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the third time this season following another dominant week on the court.
The West Point, Miss., native turned in two outstanding performances, totaling 48 points, 21 rebounds, and two steals to help lead the Lady Eagles to a perfect 2-0 week. Smith averaged a double-double over the stretch, posting 24 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game, while continuing to anchor the MCC frontcourt.
The highlight of the week came against Lawson State, where Smith poured in a career-high 30 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for her latest double-double. Her physical presence and scoring ability proved pivotal as the Lady Eagles continued their strong play.
"Terica continues to raise the bar for herself and this team," said MCC head coach Jocelyn McGilberry. "It's exciting to see her recognized again by the conference, and I hope this fuels our momentum as we move deeper into conference play."
With Smith leading the way, the Lady Eagles sit at 12-3 on the season as they look ahead to MACCC competition in the 2026 campaign.
