MCC Track & Field Dominates at Doc Anderson Invitational
TROY, Alabama. – The Meridian Community College Eagles made their presence known this past weekend at the Doc Anderson Invitational, hosted by the University of Troy. Competing on Friday and Saturday, April 4-5, the MCC Track & Field team delivered a powerhouse performance—particularly on the men's side—bringing home six event victories and numerous podium finishes.
Men's Team Highlights
The Eagles sprinted, soared, and hurdled their way to the top of the podium in a dominant showing across multiple events.

Jaci Summers lit up the track with a blistering 10.17 to win the Men's 100m, just edging out teammate Tafadzwa Chikomba, who secured second place with a 10.18.

Summers doubled down with a first-place finish in the 200m, clocking a strong 21.06.

In the 110m hurdles, Kylan Bernard claimed gold with a time of 13.85, followed by Jamari Page, who finished fourth at 14.67.

T.J. Autrey took top honors in the high jump with a mark of 2.05m, while Kelton Jones earned a solid fourth-place finish at 1.85m.

Reigning indoor national champion Tafadzwa Chikomba continued his dominance in the long jump, securing first place with a stellar 8.10m performance.

Kane Hill leapt to gold in the triple jump with a mark of 14.72m, followed closely by Khiyon Lewis, who took second at 14.64m.

The men's team also grabbed a second-place finish in the 4x100m relay, showcasing depth and teamwork on the track.
The MCC men's outdoor team is currently ranked 11th nationally in the USTFCCCA Rankings, a reflection of their exceptional performances and growing national presence.
Women's Team Highlights
The MCC women's squad also impressed, bringing energy and speed to the invitational.

The 4x100m relay team secured a strong third-place finish, marking a key relay success for the Lady Eagles.

Cshanti Pierce placed in the top five in the 400m with a time of 58.98.

Nakirsten Hughes also earned a top-five finish in the 100m, crossing the line in 11.94.
