MCC Volleyball Releases 2025 Schedule for Program’s Second Season
MERIDIAN, Miss. – Meridian Community College Volleyball has released its 2025 schedule as the program heads into its second season under head coach Alex Schimelpfening. After laying the foundation last year with the inaugural team, Schimelpfening is eager to build on that progress.
"I'm really excited to get back on the court with this group," Schimelpfening said. "Last year we were focused on starting from scratch and establishing what MCC Volleyball would look like. This season, with nine returners and a strong group of newcomers, we're ready to take the next step."
The Lady Eagles will kick off their campaign on August 16th with a scrimmage at Wallace Community College Selma before heading to Itawamba Community College for the Alabama/Mississippi Battle on August 22-23, where they will face teams from across Alabama. Conference play opens on the road at East Central on August 27th, with the Lady Eagles' first home conference matchup set for September 10th against Southwest Mississippi in the Graham Gymnasium.
In total, MCC will play 16 conference matches leading up to postseason play, which begins November 1st with the MACCC Championship. Key home contests include matchups against Jones, Pearl River, Itawamba, and East Central.
"I feel really good about the schedule we've put together," Schimelpfening added. "We're going to see great competition early, and that will prepare us well for conference play."
All MCC home games will be streamed live at mcceagles.live/green, and tickets will be available soon at mcceagles.com/tickets. For the full volleyball schedule and updates on all Eagle athletics, visit mcceagles.com.
